As part of the NBA’s “Basket of Happiness” campaign, the league will give out 50,000 jerseys to NBA players in India.
The NBA is also sending out the 10,000 most valuable jerseys to the NBA Players Association and the league is offering a $5,000 scholarship to any student who wears the NBA uniforms.
The NBA has been busy selling jerseys.
Last month, the NBA partnered with Indian airline SpiceJet and announced the sale of 100,000 of the most popular NBA jerseys.
On Saturday, NBA President of Basketball Operations David Stern announced the NBA will launch a partnership with Indian airlines SpiceJet in 2019 to sell 10,500 of the best NBA jerseys, including the “Bamboo of Happiness.”
According to the deal, the jerseys will be shipped to NBA offices in India and be available for purchase in Indian malls and online.
The jerseys will include NBA logos, the “NBA’s” color scheme and are the NBA version of a traditional Indian moustache and bangles.
Last month in India, Stern announced a $3 million scholarship for Indian students to attend the NBA Player Academy and NBA India.
The league is also selling tickets to the 2018-2019 NBA All-Star game, which will be held in Delhi on February 7.
Tickets will be sold online.
